Raj The Showman- Shooting held near Nelson Mandela's house in South Africa

There are significant changes in Kannada film industry now days. The shooting of the recently come back movie, 'Raj the Showman', was taken in South Africa and Ladak portion. The most memorable point is that some of the scenes of songs were taken very near to the house of a significant person Nelson Mandela.

In 1993 Mandela was awarded Nobel Prize for his efforts in putting an end to apartheid. In 1994, he was elected as a President in the country's first universal suffrage elections. But the time he came down from the position in 1999, he was universally respected personality of postcolonial Africa. He fought for peace in this World and even Dr. Raj Kumar of Kannada film industry was known for his peace and high standards.

Another important coincidence of this movie is that, the film team shot a few scenes on 30th of June in South Africa in the place where Gandhi was arrested first in his life, almost 95 years ago for campaign on Indian Rights in 1914.

It’s a good incident that, Dr. Raj Kumar's son Puneeth, the hero of the movie appeared in the shooting, along with the heroine Nisha Kothari where, both Nelson Mandela and Gandhi are connected in one way or the other.

The shooting was held for six days in Johannesburg and Cape Town of South Africa, in the chilly weather. Two of the songs Hai Paaru... Hai Hele Paru shooting was held in the chilling weather and another song Poli Ivanu was held in Ladak, both the songs featuring Puneeth and Nisha Kothari.

The shooting was a 14 day schedule and 26 persons were included in the team. At Ladak, the team faced oxygen problem and few were hospitalized soon.
