Devaru Kotta Thangi- Movie Review

Sandalwood News:

Movie name: Devaru Kotta Thangi
Producer: Sai Prakash
Director: Sai Prakash
Music: Hamsalekha
Cast: Shivaraj Kumar, Meera Jasmine, Monisha, Avinash, Hema Chaudhary, Ramesh Pandit, Ramesh Bhat, Vasu and Sooraj

Sai Prakash, the director cum producer who has done highly sentimental movies like Anna Thangi, Thvarina Siri and Thavarige Baa Thangi, is again back with the same
brother- sister sentiment movie called as Devaru Kotta Thangi.

Sai Prakash has just redone all the scenes, dialogues and the situations, an old wine in a new bottle. The director has understood the taste of the audience and has come
up with the new updates in the movie Devaru Kotta Thangi.

The first best feature is the use of graphics in the flood scenes and the second thing is the comedy part. There are new scenes that Saiprakash has taken from O Henry’s

short story 'The Gift of the Magi' and the fable 'The Little Dutch Boy'.

Earlier when Sai Prakash was interviewed, he said that he was inspired by the early 1970s movie Bhoothayyana maga Ayyu to do the movie. However this movie is no
way close to the classic.

The first half of the film appears like a documentary on the Indian festivals like Nagara Panchami, Bheemana Amavasye and Ugadi.

About the movie: Shivaraj Kumar in this movie is an orphan guy and he will be working in the village headman's house (Avinash). He will have a sister named Lakshmi
(Meera Jasmine), whom he loves more than anything in the world.

His master’s daughter Gauri (Monisha) falls in love with him. Meanwhile, the circumstances lead Lakshmi to marry the headman’s third son. What happens next will
form the story of the movie.
ShivarajKumar, who had done the similar role earlier, has done the role efficiently and Meera Jasmine as his sister has given very good performance.

As his love interest, Monisha has very less scope to prove her talents, but she has used given opportunity to impress the audiences. Avinash, Hema Chaudhary, Ramesh
Pandit, Ramesh Bhat, Vasu and Sooraj have done justice to their respective roles.
Hamsalekha’s music is unbeatable and heart touching. The songs on Nagara Panchami, Bheemana Amavasye and Ugadi are good, but other songs fail to impress the
audiences. Cameraman R Giri has done his work efficiently and impressively.

Overall this movie is a family oriented movie and will be liked by most of the audiences.

Let us wish all the best for the success of the movie.
