The introduction of Anti Piracy Act by Bharatheeya Janatha Party Government has brought big relief to the audio and film industry.
S Suresh Kumar the Law and parliamentary affairs minister introduced the Piracy Act to stop the day light robbery happening in the state on Wednesday. As this news spread across, it was a cheerful moment for nearly one lakh people, who are indirectly or directly connected to it. This is the testing time for about 10000 people who are directly involved in this act.
The seller is punishable even one pirated CD, cassette or DVD is sold. The culprit will undergo prison for one year and needs to pay 2 lakhs as fine and no bail is granted in such cases.
Reacting to this Rockline Venkatesh, from Horanadu said this is a celebration time for the film industry and also important event to happen. There is already enough piracy in the state and this implementation would cause 50 lakhs benefit to one producer.
Velu proprietor of the most prestigious audio house in the industry Lahari Recording Company says this Act introduction is the big festival for the entire audio industry.
Velu also said the proper implementation of it would get nearly 150 crores additional revenue to the state government and audio industry plus film industry collectively would get Rs.150 to 200 crores says Velu.
